Couple Supply Gifts

ATHOL -- Heather and Erik Plotkin, founders of the Tyler Foundation, Inc. donated 10 lunch coolers filled with gifts to families on the 9 North neurology wing at Children’s Hospital Boston on Christmas Eve.
The couple is formerly of town and now resides in Shirley.
"Hospital stays are always difficult, and even more so during the holiday season. We hope the Tyler Foundation can help make their stay in the hospital a little easier during this holiday season." said Heather.
The coolers were filled with helpful items families can use while staying at Children’s Hospital Boston. The gifts include ½ pound of Starbucks Christmas Blend Coffee, Tyler Foundation Stainless Steel Travel Mug, $25 Gift Cart Bertucci’s, two coupons for a free beverage at Starbucks, $10 Gift Card to Au Bon Pain, $10 Gift Card to Dunkin Donuts, nine coupons for a free Jr. Frosty at Wendy’s, one Coupon for a free tortilla soup at Qdoba Mexican Grill, Tyler Foundation Note Pad and Pen, Pack of Crayons, Stickers and Post It Notes.
The Tyler Foundation's mission is to help to financially support families of children with epilepsy that are being treated at Children's Hospital Boston and UMASS Medical Center in Worcester.
How the Tyler Foundation helps families:
- Providing meals at a hospital or rehab facility to families of children who are inpatients at Children's Hospital Boston or UMass Medical Center .
- Providing gas cards to be used by families who are transporting children to doctor's appointments and hospital visits related to epilepsy.
- Providing financial assistance for the purchase of therapeutic equipment used in the treatment of children suffering from the delayed development caused by the brain malformation and seizures.
